In a disturbing incident, a woman was groped by a rowdy group on a waterlogged street in Lucknow, triggering the arrest of four men and disciplinary action against eight police officers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a cryptic remark in the assembly, stating that a "bullet train" will target the offenders.
The incident occurred in the upscale Gomti Nagar area, where the woman was riding pillion on a motorcycle when attacked. An official statement on Thursday confirmed that the local police station in-charge and several high-ranking officers were suspended for negligence.
The chief minister referred to two of the suspects - Pawan Yadav and Mohammed Arbaaz - during his assembly address. A social media video showed the men splashing water and groping the woman before she fell off the motorcycle. Based on CCTV footage, Pawan Yadav and Sunil Kumar were identified, leading to the arrests of Mohammed Arbaaz and Viraj Sahu.
