A 12-year-old boy died of electrocution in southwest Delhi's Bindapur area, police said on Thursday.
The boy, Mudit, was returning home from a tuition class when he came into contact with a live wire, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Kumar Singh.
Rushed to the hospital, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Authorities recovered two plastic pipes containing disconnected electric cables tied to a wall near the DDA flats.
An FIR under Section 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered following a complaint by Mudit's father. Family members described Mudit as a studious and talented judoka who was the eldest of two siblings.
In a separate incident, a 28-year-old man died of electrocution in southeast Delhi's Mithapur area. Prabhat had gone to his terrace during rain and may have come into contact with a wire connected to a water tank alarm system. With no immediate witnesses, the exact cause remains unclear, police said.
