East-West Prisoner Exchange Brings Dozens Home
A significant East-West prisoner exchange occurred on Thursday, facilitated by the White House. Returning to the U.S. from Russia are three citizens and one permanent resident. Twelve German nationals will head back to Germany, and eight individuals are set to return to Russia. Additionally, two non-prisoner children were also involved in the swap.
A major East-West prisoner exchange took place on Thursday, as confirmed by the White House. The exchange saw three U.S. citizens and one legal permanent resident returning home from Russia: Evan Gershkovich, Paul Whelan, Alsu Kurmasheva, and Vladimir Kara-Murza.
Twelve German nationals and several Russian political prisoners are also set to return to Germany. The names of those returning include Dieter Voronin, Kevin Lick, and others.
In addition, eight individuals are heading back to Russia, coming from various countries such as Germany, Slovenia, Norway, Poland, and the United States. Notably, two children who were not prisoners were also part of this significant swap.
