Electoral Commission Achieves Fourth Consecutive Clean Audit Report

Electoral Commission CEO Sy Mamabolo praised the staff for their dedication to maintaining high standards of accountability, proficiency, and transparency.

The Electoral Commission has proudly announced that it has received a clean audit report for the fourth consecutive time. The Auditor-General's recent external audit of the 2023/2024 financial statements and Party Funding has resulted in a clean audit opinion for both areas.

"This significant achievement reflects our commitment to financial probity and the robustness of our internal controls," the Commission stated in a release on Thursday. The clean audit opinions highlight the Commission's adherence to the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and its associated regulations.

"We have consistently implemented internal controls to manage the organization's performance and strive to uphold these standards, even during demanding election periods," Mamabolo remarked.

He added, "Our commitment goes beyond delivering reputable elections; we are also dedicated to ensuring that our business practices meet the highest standards through the ongoing implementation of internal controls."

The audit report and the Annual Report will be presented to the National Assembly in accordance with the Electoral Commission Act and PFMA provisions.
