BBMB Faces Struggles in Evicting Unauthorized Occupants

The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is struggling with the eviction of unauthorized occupants from its land, according to Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Choudhary.
In a written statement to the Rajya Sabha, Choudhary revealed that 235 properties have been under litigation since 1985.
The BBMB has issued eviction orders for 17 properties in the last three years, but no encroachments have been removed. The Board manages water and power supplies from the Bhakra Nangal and Beas projects to Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, and Chandigarh.
