Assam Government Honours Public Servants with Karmashree and Lok Sewa Awards

Public servants in Assam, ranging from top officers to clerks and peons, were awarded the 'Karmashree' and 'Lok Sewa' awards by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The awards were presented to recognize their service to the people, coinciding with Lok Kalyan Divas, the death anniversary of Gopinath Bordoloi.

The awards ceremony took place on Lok Kalyan Divas, which marks the death anniversary of Assam's first chief minister, Gopinath Bordoloi. Sarma urged the employees to continue their dedicated and sincere work, highlighting the government's initiatives for public servants such as housing, solar panel, and medical insurance schemes.

'Our public servants are advancing the good governance ideals of Gopinath Bordoloi. Today, we acknowledged their contributions with the Karmashree and Lok Sewa Awards at both state and district levels,' Sarma stated in a post on X. He emphasized the progressive policies for government employees in Assam and urged them to focus on public welfare over personal gain.
