In a commendable act, freight train guard Ravineet Arya emerged as a savior for two girls who boarded a train at Hathras station to escape from stalkers, reaching Etawah, roughly 140 km away from their hometown in Uttar Pradesh.
Around 11 pm on August 3, Arya, on his way to sign in for duty at Etawah station, noticed the distressed girls sitting on a platform bench. They recounted their ordeal to Arya, explaining they were returning from a tuition center when menacing individuals began stalking them. In their panic, they boarded the first available train which soon departed.
Arya promptly involved the station superintendent, railway police, and the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), ensuring the girls' families were contacted and that they were safely reunited. One of the girls, being a minor, received additional attention from the CWC until her family's arrival. The prompt intervention of Arya, who hails from Tundla headquarters, garnered widespread appreciation.
