This move comes in the wake of Mali severing its own relations with Kyiv, triggered by comments from Ukraine's military spy agency linking Malian rebels to the attack. In a televised statement, Niger's spokesperson Abdourahamane Amadou declared solidarity with Mali.

Efforts to reach Ukraine's foreign ministry were unsuccessful due to the late hour. Ukraine has condemned Mali's decision as impulsive, denying allegations of backing international terrorism. The dispute highlights complex diplomatic tensions as Ukraine seeks to expand its global alliances.
