Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has declared an ex-gratia payment of Rs 50 lakh and a government job for the wife of police sub-inspector Parashuram, who died under suspicious circumstances on August 4.
Rejecting calls for a CBI investigation, Parameshwara stated that a CID probe would suffice. The deceased officer's wife implicated Yadgir Congress MLA Channareddy Tannur and his son in her husband's death, alleging they demanded Rs 30 lakh for his job security.
Parameshwara visited the bereaved family, expressing grief and emphasizing the government's seriousness regarding the case. He assured the public that justice would be served once the CID inquiry report was concluded.
