Deputy CMs of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka Meet to Resolve Elephant Movement Issues

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan on Thursday met Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar B Khandre to address pressing issues stemming from elephant movement across state borders.
The meeting, where the deputy chief minister sought Karnataka's cooperation, focused on managing the increased migration of jumbos from Karnataka's border districts into Andhra Pradesh. Kalyan expressed satisfaction with Karnataka's agreement to provide eight kumkis (trained elephants) to assist in the resolution.
In addition, discussions covered the seizure of illegal red sanders valued at Rs 140 crore by Karnataka and plans to incorporate technology, like satellite surveillance, for forest preservation. Kalyan, representing the Janasena party, promised to forward Karnataka's request for land to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and also interacted with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
