Advocate Couple's Assault Sparks Outrage in Jangaon

A case has been registered against a Circle Inspector, Sub-Inspector, and others following allegations of assaulting an advocate couple in Jangaon district. The incident has ignited protests as advocates rallied for justice.

The complaint filed before the DCP (West Zone) Jangaon claims that, on August 5, the advocate couple, along with their client, visited the Jangaon police station to register a case. The CI allegedly abused the couple, and subsequently, a SI and constables reportedly assaulted them and confiscated their phones.

Following this, police registered a case on August 7 and announced that further investigation is underway. An ACP-rank officer has been tasked with conducting a detailed inquiry and reporting on the matter. Advocates have held city-wide protests, demanding the suspension of the implicated officers.
