Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to the landslide-stricken Wayanad region on Saturday to assess the ongoing relief and rehabilitation initiatives. The visit aims to provide a firsthand account of the disaster's aftermath and solidarity with the victims.

Officials have confirmed that Modi will arrive in Kannur at around 11 am, from where he will proceed with an aerial survey of the affected areas in Wayanad. During this survey, rescue teams will present detailed briefings on the evacuation efforts and challenges encountered.

Following the aerial assessment, Modi will visit a relief camp and a hospital to interact directly with the victims and survivors of the catastrophic landslides. This visit will then culminate in a review meeting where officials will provide exhaustive details on the incident and ongoing relief efforts. The tragedy has claimed at least 226 lives and many more remain unaccounted for since the landslide struck on July 30.
