National Tragedy: Indian Youth's Desperate Migration to the Russian Army

The Congress party on Friday termed it a 'national tragedy' that Indian youths, recruited into the Russian army, are awaiting release and criticized the centre for failing to generate employment opportunities.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh stated that 87 Indians, facing dire unemployment at home, joined the Russian army, with 66 still pending release.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar confirmed the situation, noting evidence of Indians being misled. The CBI has lodged criminal cases against 19 individuals responsible for these recruitments.
