An Israeli airstrike hit a school in Gaza City being used as a shelter, killing at least 80 people early Saturday, Palestinian health authorities reported, marking one of the deadliest incidents in the 10-month conflict with Hamas.

The Israeli military confirmed the strike on the Tabeen school, claiming it targeted a Hamas command center. Hamas, however, denied the presence of militants in the school.

Reports of increasing Israeli attacks on schools in Gaza, which serve as shelters for displaced families, have surfaced. Video footage showed extensive damage to the building, with debris and blood-soaked floors. Fadel Naeem, director of al-Ahli hospital, said the facility received 70 bodies and multiple injured, many with severe injuries.
