This marked Jaishankar's first high-level visit to the Maldives since Muizzu, known for his pro-China stance, took office last year.

Jaishankar underscored the diverse sectors of collaboration, such as health, education, and climate resilience, and announced the inauguration of water and sanitation projects in 28 islands, impacting 28,000 residents and marking significant progress in bilateral ties.
