Hindenburg Accuses SEBI Chairperson of Ties to Adani Scandal
Hindenburg Research levied serious accusations against SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Buch and her husband, alleging they held stakes in offshore funds implicated in the Adani money siphoning scandal. Despite a Supreme Court investigation, no adverse report has been delivered against Adani. Hindenburg's claims focus on unexplored links to offshore entities.
Hindenburg Research has launched new accusations against SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Buch, alleging she and her husband have stakes in offshore funds linked to the Adani money siphoning scandal.
Hindenburg's blog post claims SEBI has shown little interest in probing Adani's offshore entities, despite the Supreme Court's directives. The accusations cite 'whistleblower documents' asserting Buch's involvement with funds reportedly controlled by Vinod Adani, used to inflate stock prices.
Though Adani Group has denied these allegations, Hindenburg's prior report left a significant impact, eroding over USD 150 billion in the conglomerate's market value. SEBI continues to investigate, but questions about regulatory effectiveness linger.
