Software Engineer Cheated in Rs 91 Lakh Share Trading Fraud

A 40-year-old woman software engineer from Maharashtra was defrauded of Rs 91.05 lakh in a share trading scam. Police have registered a case against three individuals who lured her with promises of good returns. Ignored after investing, she filed a complaint leading to the case registration.

A 40-year-old woman software engineer from Thane district in Maharashtra has allegedly been cheated out of Rs 91.05 lakh in a share trading fraud, police reported on Monday.

Authorities have registered a case against three individuals in connection with the incident.

The accused approached the woman, a resident of Shankeshwar Nagar in Dombivli, between July 2 and August 6, convincing her to invest in share trading with promises of high returns, according to an official from Manpada police station.

She was included in various social media groups dedicated to trading and subsequently invested Rs 91,05,000. However, when she did not receive the promised returns and the suspects ignored her calls, she reported the incident to the police on Sunday. Following her complaint, a case was filed against three individuals under the relevant legal provisions, per the police statement.
