Tragic Drowning Incident in Madhya Pradesh: Mother and Daughter Lost in Well

A tragic incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district where a woman and her 10-month-old daughter drowned in a well. The incident happened on Monday evening in Jhamtuli village. The mother jumped into the well to save her child, but both drowned. Authorities are investigating the case.

The incident occurred on Monday evening in Jhamtuli village, within the Bamitha police station jurisdiction. An official stated that Purnima (26) was working in a field while her daughter played nearby. The child accidentally fell into the well, and the woman jumped in to rescue her, according to naib tehsildar Indrakumar Gautam.

When the woman's husband arrived at the field, he found the child's body floating in the well. A team from the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) recovered the woman's body on Tuesday morning. The Bamitha police station has registered a case, and further investigation is ongoing.
