Massive Seizure from Naxalite Hideouts in Chhattisgarh

Police have seized Rs 38 lakh in cash and a range of explosives from two Naxalite hideouts along the Gariaband and Dhamtari district border in Chhattisgarh. The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), uncovered a considerable cache of materials.

The raid was initiated on August 10, following intelligence that Naxalites had extorted money from local business owners and stored it in two separate locations. The search revealed 'dumps' of cash and weapons hidden in the forests of Chhote Gobra and Pendra villages.

Items recovered included 23 rounds of Barrel Grenade Launcher (BGL) ammunition, two 'tiffin bombs,' components for IEDs, and Maoist uniforms. The finds are linked to the Dhamtari-Gariaband-Nuapada division under the Odisha state committee of the Maoists, according to preliminary investigations.
