Persistent Pursuit: Ongoing Anti-Terror Operations in Anantnag Forests

The anti-terror operation in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, has reached its fourth day, with search teams encountering suspicious activity in Ahlan Gagarmandu forest. Additional security forces have been deployed to eliminate the terrorists hiding in the area. This operation follows a series of recent confrontations with militants in the region.

The anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district has entered its fourth day. Search teams noticed suspicious movement in the Ahlan Gagarmandu forest early Tuesday and responded with probing fire, officials reported.

There was no further firing as search operations continued. Additional security personnel are conducting combing efforts to flush out terrorists hiding in the forest, officials stated.

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V K Birdi, confirmed to reporters that the anti-terror operation remains active. This follows a fire exchange on August 10 that resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and prompted a massive manhunt in the Kokernag region.
