In a startling incident, a man suspected to have landed at Kerala's international airport was allegedly kidnapped by a gang while he was en route in an autorickshaw early Wednesday morning, authorities disclosed.
The man's identity is yet to be confirmed, prompting an intensive investigation, police stated. According to the autorickshaw driver, the man boarded from near the airport entrance.
The gang intercepted the rickshaw in the Sreekandeswaram area, forcibly transferring the victim into their vehicle before fleeing the scene. The driver reported the victim spoke in Tamil, and police are verifying whether he indeed disembarked from the airport and carried any luggage.
