Ukrainian Troops Seize Control of Key Russian Town

In a bold military maneuver, Ukrainian troops have successfully seized the Russian town of Sudzha, a critical gas transhipment hub located in the Kursk region. State television aired dramatic footage on Wednesday showing Ukrainian soldiers triumphantly taking down a Russian flag from an official building.

The video, which state television confirms was taken on Wednesday, features a three-storey structure in Sudzha and captures the moment when three Ukrainian soldiers shouted 'Glory to Ukraine' while pulling down the Russian flag. According to a state TV correspondent present in the town, Ukrainian forces now exercise full control over Sudzha.

Thousands of Ukrainian troops breached the Russian border in the early hours of August 6 and have since maintained their hold despite over a week of intense battles. The video also depicted a column of burnt-out Russian vehicles at the town's entrance, alongside empty streets with undamaged shops and official buildings.
