Centre Seeks Applications for Eight Information Commissioner Posts in CIC

The Centre has announced vacancies for eight Information Commissioner positions in the Central Information Commission (CIC). Applicants must be under 65 years of age and meet criteria in fields like law, science, and journalism. The deadline for applications is September 10.

The Centre has issued a call for applications to fill eight vacant posts of Information Commissioners within the Central Information Commission (CIC), a transparency watchdog.

The CIC, responsible for adjudicating appeals and complaints under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, is led by a Chief Information Commissioner and can appoint up to 10 Information Commissioners (ICs).

Currently, the Commission is operating with a Chief Information Commissioner and two ICs.
