Caste Allegations Emerge Amid Molestation Case Stir; Accused Denies Involvement

An accused in a recent molestation case, where a woman was allegedly groped by a mob while traversing a waterlogged street in Gomti Nagar, met with Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, claiming caste-based framing.

After the meeting, accused Pawan Yadav stated he wasn't at the scene during the incident and was merely drinking tea when apprehended by police. He suggested his caste, Yadav, might have led to his implication.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav addressed the issue, noting that Pawan Yadav had come to him, and questioned why Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath only mentioned two names during the Assembly session. Multiple police suspensions followed the incident, fueling further controversy.
