Tragic Accidental Firing in Chhattisgarh: Head Constable Loses Life

A head constable in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district lost his life due to an accidental discharge of his service rifle. The incident occurred while he was cleaning the weapon at a police station. This marks the sixth accidental firing involving security personnel in the state in recent months.

A head constable was tragically killed on Friday when his service weapon accidentally discharged in Naxalite-hit Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh.

The incident occurred around 9 AM at Bhairamgarh police station while Head Constable Sannu Hapka was cleaning his rifle. He had just returned from leave for Road Opening Party (ROP) duty.

Upon hearing the gunshot, colleagues took him to a local health center where he succumbed to a chest injury. This marks the sixth accidental firing in the state involving security forces over the past six months.
