A Kenyan woman was arrested at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Friday for allegedly carrying cocaine worth Rs 20 crore. The contraband was concealed in liquid form in two shampoo and lotion bottles, according to Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials.
The liquid cocaine mimicked the appearance of normal shampoo and lotion, complicating its detection. DRI officials revealed that the woman, who arrived from Nairobi, Kenya, was caught based on specific intelligence. Authorities seized a total of 1,983 grams of the substance, which tested positive for cocaine.
The approximate market value of the cocaine is Rs 20 crore. The woman was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and has been remanded in judicial custody, officials confirmed.
