City Police Crack Down on Dangerous 'Wheeling' Riders

The city police registered 33 cases involving 36 individuals in Hebbal, Yelahanka, and Devanahalli for dangerous 'wheeling' on motorcycles. Six minors were involved, and their parents faced action. Driving licenses of offenders were confiscated. Future operations are planned to ensure social peace, according to DCP D R Siri Gowri.

The city police have intensified their efforts against 'wheeling' by filing 33 cases in Hebbal, Yelahanka, and Devanahalli.

A total of 36 individuals were caught performing this dangerous stunt, where the front wheel of the motorcycle is lifted off the ground, posing risks to both the rider and the public, according to a press release from D R Siri Gowri, deputy commissioner of police (traffic, north division).

In six instances, minors were involved, leading to actions being taken against their parents. The driving licenses of the offenders were also confiscated and sent to competent authorities for suspension. DCP Gowri indicated plans for continued scrutiny under Section 107 of the CrPC Security Act, with operations to be conducted by specialized teams.
