CBP One App Expands Asylum Request Access for Southern Mexico Migrants
Non-Mexican migrants in southern Mexico can now use the CBP One mobile app to request asylum appointments at U.S. land ports of entry starting August 23. This change will expand the geographical access from northern and central Mexico to include Chiapas and Tabasco.
Non-Mexican migrants in southern Mexico will gain the ability to use the CBP One mobile application to request asylum appointments at U.S. land ports of entry from August 23, as stated by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Friday.
Previously, migrants in Mexico could only request and schedule appointments from northern and central regions of the country. This update will extend access to include migrants in the southern states of Chiapas and Tabasco.
