The horrifying incident took place on Friday night when the accused allegedly lured the 25-year-old woman to his house with food before assaulting her. According to Superintendent of Police (City) Abhimanyu Manglik, the woman's family found her at the accused's house and confronted him. The situation escalated when the man attacked them with a sickle as he tried to escape.

One family member was injured in the confrontation. The accused was eventually overpowered by the victim's family and local residents, who then handed him over to the police.
