Ambience Mall in Gurugram was evacuated on Saturday after it received an email claiming that a bomb had been planted on the premises, police confirmed. The threat, however, turned out to be a hoax.
Bomb and dog squad teams were urgently dispatched, with the search operation spanning four-and-a-half hours, officials reported.
The threatening email was received at 9.27 am, reportedly sent from hiddenbones101@gmail.com, stating bombs had been planted and lives were in danger. The search concluded without finding any explosives. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, DLF (Gurugram), Vikas Kaushik, efforts are now focused on identifying the email sender.
Gurugram Police urged the public to remain calm, noting that similar threats have previously been unfounded. DLF Mall in Noida also received a similar hoax threat the same day, following a pattern of recent threats to the region's institutions.
