A group of 345 Indian fishermen who were stranded in Iran due to rising regional tensions successfully returned to India via Armenia on Saturday, as confirmed by officials.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed gratitude to Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan for facilitating the evacuation.
More than 1,500 Indian nationals have left Iran through land borders in Armenia and Azerbaijan amid the ongoing West Asia conflict.
Separately, five Indians were reported injured in an Abu Dhabi attack involving debris from an intercepted missile, with local authorities providing full assistance.
The Indian government is closely monitoring the safety and welfare of Indians abroad amid ongoing tensions.
