Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has vowed to challenge Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's sanction for his prosecution regarding the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam. Speaking to reporters after a special Cabinet meeting, Siddaramaiah labeled the sanction as 'illegal' and 'unconstitutional.'
Expressing solidarity with the Chief Minister, the entire Cabinet, Congress high-command, and MLAs have condemned the Governor's decision. Siddaramaiah accused the Governor of acting as a 'puppet' for the central government, emphasizing that he should represent the Constitution, not the BJP or the Centre.
He asserted that the Governor failed to follow Standard Operating Procedures sent by the Centre on September 3, 2021, accusing the move of being a politically motivated decision to destabilize his government. The Chief Minister remains confident that the BJP and JD(S) will not succeed in their attempts to defame him, as he continues to have the support of the people of Karnataka.
