Kerala police's Cyber Crime Investigation Wing has registered a case against an unknown individual for allegedly creating a fake Instagram account in the name of former High Court Chief Justice A J Desai. The accused sought money using this false identity. The case was registered under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the IT Act after a complaint from Desai's PA.

The Cyber Crime Investigation Wing of Kerala Police has initiated a case against an unknown individual for allegedly establishing a fraudulent Instagram account under the name of former High Court Chief Justice, A J Desai, and soliciting money through it.

The cyber crime police station registered the case on August 17, invoking multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the IT Act, subsequent to a complaint by Desai's personal assistant.

According to the FIR, the accused created the deceptive Instagram profile shortly after Desai retired on July 4. On August 13, the individual contacted Desai's PA and escort assistant to request money, prompting the legal action.
