Russia Criticizes Germany's Handling of Nord Stream Sabotage Probe
Russia has expressed dissatisfaction with Germany's investigation into the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions. A Ukrainian suspect identified by German prosecutors escaped arrest in Poland due to procedural issues. Russia doubts that the German investigation will find the culprits and urges Germany to fulfill its UN anti-terrorist obligations.
Russia has raised concerns with Germany regarding its investigation into the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions, according to the RIA state news agency. This follows the escape of a key Ukrainian suspect from Poland.
German media reported that a Ukrainian diving instructor was identified as a suspect and an arrest warrant issued. However, Polish authorities confirmed the suspect left the country as Germany hadn't listed him in a database of wanted persons.
Oleg Tyapkin, head of the European department at the Russian foreign ministry, stated that Moscow expects the investigation to be closed without identifying those responsible. The Russian Foreign Minister has emphasized that Germany must answer all questions related to the probe.
