A 26-year-old senior executive of a private bank in Mumbai became a victim of a Rs 2.5 lakh sextortion scam, police reported on Monday.

The victim, also the son of a police officer, was duped after receiving a friend request on Instagram from a woman identified as Kriti Sharma. Following chat exchanges, the woman made a video call where she was nude and urged the executive to undress. Unbeknownst to him, the call was recorded.

The woman then demanded money, threatening to share the video on social media. The executive complied, transferring Rs 2.5 lakh in multiple transactions, before reporting the scam to Dadar police. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
