Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed concern on Monday that authorities are pressuring Lt Gen (retd.) Faiz Hameed, the former head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), to turn state's witness against him. The 71-year-old Khan made the statement during an informal discussion with journalists at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where he has been held since last year.

Speaking about Hameed's recent arrest, Khan reiterated that all charges against him were unfounded and aimed at moving his case to a military court. He also noted that he would not be intimidated by Hameed's arrest and stood firm in his call for a judicial commission to investigate the charges.

Hameed, who led the ISI from 2019 to 2021, was considered a powerful figure during his tenure. A petition filed in the Supreme Court by Top City owner Moeez Ahmed Khan accused Hameed of misusing his authority and seizing valuable assets. The case is now under investigation by a high-level army inquiry committee.
