On Monday, unidentified men armed with hockey sticks and batons vandalized the office of East West Media Group in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The assault left a woman journalist injured and caused significant property damage.
Reports indicate at least 70 attackers were involved, targeting the media complex around 2 PM. The attack damaged vehicles, media offices, and broadcasting equipment. The motive is believed to be personal rivalry rather than political.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party condemned the attacks, labeling them as acts of conspiracy. With the country facing law and order challenges, newly-appointed Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury emphasized immediate action to improve the situation.
