Centre Deploys Nearly 300 Paramilitary Companies for Kashmir Valley Election Duties

The Centre has dispatched almost 300 paramilitary companies to secure the upcoming assembly elections in the Kashmir Valley. The forces, including the CRPF, BSF, SSB, and ITBP, aim to ensure smooth conduct of the polls scheduled in three phases starting September 18. Most forces are concentrated in Srinagar and Anantnag.

The Centre has mobilized nearly 300 paramilitary companies to maintain order during the upcoming assembly elections in the Kashmir Valley, officials disclosed on Tuesday.

These companies, comprising units from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), have been stationed across various districts including Srinagar, Handwara, and Anantnag to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process.

Among the deployed forces, Srinagar tops the list with 55 companies, followed by Anantnag with 50 units. The election will unfold in three phases beginning September 18, with subsequent voting on September 25 and October 1.
