The Gurugram Police have apprehended a couple and their associate for the alleged murder of a 27-year-old man, whose body was found floating in a drum in a drain three days ago.
Officials stated that the man, a relative of the couple, was killed over an illicit relationship. The body, discovered on Saturday in the IMT Manesar area, bore signs of strangulation and was wrapped in a sari. Identification was difficult as nothing was found on the body or in the drum. An FIR was registered, and an investigation was launched.
The deceased was later identified as Ramparichan Sharma, a native of Madhubani district in Bihar, residing in Begampur Khatola village. The suspects, Panchdev Thakur, his wife Indu, and their friend Chandan Thakur, all from Supol district and living in Bas Kushla village, were located based on the investigation. Panchdev confessed that Sharma was involved in an illicit affair with Indu, leading them to lure Sharma to their home and strangle him on August 14th.
They then disposed of the body with Chandan's help. The investigation continues, said Deepak Kumar Jewaria, DCP, Manesar.
