Ukraine launched one of the largest-ever drone attacks on Moscow on Wednesday, the city's mayor announced. Russian air defense units managed to destroy 11 drones heading towards the capital, with some intercepted over Podolsk, approximately 24 miles south of the Kremlin.

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin labeled the incident as a major attempt to target Moscow. While preliminary reports indicate no injuries or damage, the attack highlights continued hostilities. This event follows Russia's ongoing battles in eastern Ukraine and recent territorial breaches by Ukrainian forces into Russia's Kursk region.

In addition to Moscow, drones were shot down in the Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, and Kursk regions. Kyiv has ramped up aerial attacks against Russia, targeting key infrastructure to disrupt Moscow's war operations.
