The Delhi Police announced on Friday that it had corrected the earlier miscommunication about the withdrawal of security for the three women wrestlers who are set to testify against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Priyanka Rajpoot requested the city police to provide a detailed report on the issue by Friday and instructed the DCP to reinstated the security for one of the three wrestlers, noting her slated testimony against Singh on August 22.

The court on Friday recorded the wrestler's statement in-camera, which remained incomplete, and scheduled the continuation of her testimony for September 10. Additional Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava clarified that the removal of the security for the wrestlers was a miscommunication, which has now been rectified.

On Thursday, the court had issued an interim order for the immediate reinstatement of the female wrestler's security. Top wrestler Vinesh Phogat had also highlighted the issue on social media, tagging relevant authorities.
