The PDP on Saturday unveiled its manifesto for the Assembly elections, asserting a commitment to the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood. The party also aimed to foster diplomatic dialogue between India and Pakistan and enhance connectivity across the Line of Control (LoC) for trade and social interaction.
Party president Mehbooba Mufti, accompanied by senior leaders, released the manifesto titled 'People's Aspirations' at the PDP headquarters. Key promises include a push for a regional free-trade area, revocation of the Public Safety Act (PSA), Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Enemy Act, and efforts to repeal the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
The manifesto further pledges to reassess and rectify instances of unfair job terminations, particularly concerning Jammu and Kashmir government employees dismissed over allegations of terror support.
