Three cadres of the banned Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a splinter group of the proscribed CPI (Maoist), have been apprehended in Jharkhand's Palamu district, according to law enforcement officials on Monday.

Authorities have confiscated a rifle, a pistol, six cartridges, three mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the individuals, police said.

Addressing the media, Palamu Superintendent of Police Reeshma Ramesan stated that the trio was detained near Chetma village in the Sarbarwa police station area on Sunday evening while en route to collect extortion money in Tumbagarha.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Vijay Paswan (31), Ashok Kumar Yadav (34), and Akhilesh Kumar (38), the officer confirmed.
