A few days prior, the 67-year-old suspect had stopped the girl on her way to school, offering her a chocolate and attempting to get close to her. On Friday, he reportedly took her to his home while she was returning from school and raped her.

The incident occurred in a rural area on the outskirts of Pune. The girl shared her ordeal during the school session on Saturday, prompting school authorities to inform her parents. The parents subsequently filed a police complaint, leading to the man's arrest. A further probe is underway.
