Security Forces Engage in Midnight Firefight with Terrorists in Rajouri District
An encounter between security forces and terrorists erupted in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, following a cordon and search operation. An armed encounter erupted between security personnel and terrorists on the night of Wednesday and Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, subsequent to a cordon and search operation triggered by suspected militant activity.
According to a police spokesperson, a search was conducted in the Kheri Mohra Lathi and Danthal areas starting at 9:30 PM on Wednesday, following reports of suspicious movement.
The situation escalated around 11:45 PM when contact was established with the terrorists, leading to an exchange of gunfire near the Kheri Mohra area. Tracer rounds were fired by security forces to illuminate the surroundings.
