Security Forces Engage in Midnight Firefight with Terrorists in Rajouri District

An encounter between security forces and terrorists erupted in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, following a cordon and search operation. Troops engaged militants near Kheri Mohra area, using tracer rounds for visibility. Additional forces were dispatched, with two to three terrorists holed up in the area.

An armed encounter erupted between security personnel and terrorists on the night of Wednesday and Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, subsequent to a cordon and search operation triggered by suspected militant activity.

According to a police spokesperson, a search was conducted in the Kheri Mohra Lathi and Danthal areas starting at 9:30 PM on Wednesday, following reports of suspicious movement.

The situation escalated around 11:45 PM when contact was established with the terrorists, leading to an exchange of gunfire near the Kheri Mohra area. Tracer rounds were fired by security forces to illuminate the surroundings.
