Serial Mobile Phone Thief Caught in Delhi

Delhi Police have arrested 45-year-old Jasbindar Singh for stealing mobile phones after borrowing them pretending to make a call. Singh, a Patiala native, targeted insurance and loan executives, meeting them at Connaught Place. Police recovered four stolen phones and tracked Singh from a victim's tip-off.

The Delhi Police have apprehended a 45-year-old man named Jasbindar Singh for allegedly stealing mobile phones under the guise of making a call, an officer announced on Friday.

Singh, hailing from Patiala in Punjab, would call insurance and home loan executives to Connaught Place, request their phones on the pretext that his wasn’t working, and then flee with the devices.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahla revealed that Singh was involved in five such cases, and four stolen mobile phones were recovered from him. The police managed to track Singh down after one victim provided his number and subsequently arrested him from a hotel in Mahipalpur.
