Tensions Erupt in Nandanagar Over Alleged Obscene Gesture

Tensions flared in Nandanagar, Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, after an alleged obscene gesture by a man towards a local teenage girl. The incident provoked hundreds of villagers to take to the streets on Sunday, demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
Protesters, angered by the incident, marched and attempted to vandalise a barber shop owned by the 24-year-old accused, who hails from a different community. The man is currently absconding, with his shop shuttered.
Superintendent of Police (Chamoli) Sarvesh Panwar, along with his team, arrived to address the situation and pacify the crowd. Despite their efforts, local traders and residents continued to voice their demands for justice and action against the accused.
