Legal Turmoil: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's Alleged Involvement in MUDA Scam

The Karnataka High Court on Monday extended the interim stay on trial court proceedings against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah till September 9, given his alleged involvement in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case.
The Court has postponed the hearing on the Chief Minister's petition challenging the legality of Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's sanction for prosecution. Representing Respondent Snehamayi Krishna, senior advocate K G Raghavan made submissions.
Justice M Nagaprasanna noted, 'Heard the learned senior counsel K G Raghavan. The learned Advocate General seeks a week's time to make his submissions. The matter is listed for September 9.' The Governor granted sanction under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. On August 19, Siddaramaiah challenged the Governor's order in the High Court.
