Royal Bank of Canada's Disputed Counterclaims Against Ex-CFO Nadine Ahn
Former Royal Bank of Canada CFO Nadine Ahn has denied all allegations presented in the lender's counterclaim following her wrongful dismissal lawsuit. RBC's counterclaim alleges an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate, who is also suing the bank. Ahn maintains her conduct was professional and within company policy.
In a dramatic legal battle, former Royal Bank of Canada CFO Nadine Ahn has categorically denied all allegations laid out in the bank's counterclaim, which counters her lawsuit for wrongful dismissal.
RBC's countersuit, filed in August, accuses Ahn of engaging in an intimate relationship with a subordinate, a detail the bank claims to have uncovered during an internal investigation. Ahn, who sued for nearly C$50 million, contends that her interactions were purely professional and within company guidelines.
The case has escalated, with the subordinate also filing a lawsuit against RBC for wrongful termination. The bank asserts his promotion was improperly influenced by Ahn. Ahn, however, claimed she was in the running for CEO before her termination, accusing RBC of selectively quoting communications to malign her reputation.
