PAC Deliberates on SEBI Chairperson's Allegations amidst Regulatory Reviews

Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman K C Venugopal stated on Friday that it is the committee's decision whether to summon SEBI chairperson Madhabi Buch, who is facing conflict of interest allegations, to appear before it.

Nishikant Dubey, a BJP lawmaker and member of the committee, raised concerns about scrutinizing Buch, emphasizing that the PAC should only investigate matters based on factual reports from authoritative bodies.

The PAC is focusing on examining the performance of regulatory bodies established by Acts of Parliament and other significant subjects, following suggestions from its members.
